Zach Dickens (Extra Space Storage)
Zach Dickens has over 21 years of experience in the self storage industry and is currently the Chief Investment Officer of global self storage leader, Extra Space Storage. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions including the merger of Storage USA in 2005 and Life Storage in 2023 with Extra Space.

Linda Sharkey (Four Leaves)
Linda is Managing Director of Four Leaves, a real estate services company specialising in self storage going concern (real estate and business) transactions and advisory. Having had all major Australasian storage owners and operators as clients across her career, Linda has unique insights into the financial performance of the asset class, the investment metrics underpinning the current market, and the evolving drivers of demand for self storage.
Sam Kennard (Kennards Self Storage)
Appointed to lead the business in 1994, under his stewardship Kennards Self Storage has grown from 14 storage centres to 125+ operating today. Sam has extensive experience in management, leadership, marketing, culture and property acquisition and development, specialising in self storage and mixed-use development.
Michael Tate (Storage King)
Michael is the Co-Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of the Storage King Group.
Founded in 1998 in partnership with David Scanlen, the entrepreneurial pair saw an
emerging opportunity and successfully transformed the traditional property management style inherent in self storage at the time into a retail offering. More than 25 years on, Storage King has grown to more than 200 stores and is the most recognised storage brand in Australasia.
Thomas Whalan (Rent A Space)
Thomas is CEO of Rent a Space, one of Australia’s large privately-owned self storage operators , where he leads strategy, growth and operations across the business. A former four-time Olympian and Australian water polo captain, Thomas brings a high-performance mindset to leadership, combining his elite sporting experience with deep industry expertise.

The All-Inclusive registration includes:
All session and social events, with the exception of the Golf Tournament and Women in Storage which can be purchased separately during the registration process. Accommodation is also available to book during the registration process.
Yes, you can build your own ticket using the Flexi option. Add each individual event you’d like to attend plus any accommodation options to build your convention registration. This ticket is also ideal for members who are bringing their partners who would like to join for the social aspects of GC26. If you end up building in most of the events and activities, it will be more cost effective to purchase the All Inclusive ticket!
Absolutely! Partners are welcome to attend the social aspects of the convention and can register for social events via the build your own registration form. If you’re bringing your family and need assistance arranging babysitting, please let us know. There are 2bed+ apartments available for booking during the registration process, or plenty of family-friendly accommodation nearby.
Up to four weeks before the event, attendees who need to cancel will be refunded the full amount minus a $20 administration fee.
Up to two days before the event, attendees can substitute a colleague or delegate their place by emailing the details of the new attendee to admin@selfstorage.com.au.
