SSAA International Women’s Day Feature, 2024: Part 1

Within an industry steeped in success, resilience and growth stands a legacy of individuals committed to building self storage into a collegiate industry, fostering sustainable career paths for many. International Women’s Day allows us to pause and recognise some of the incredible women who are actively making a positive contribution to this ongoing legacy in their workplaces.

‘Inspire Inclusion’ stands as the 2024 campaign theme for International Women’s Day, focused on a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment. This mission has evidently already been a priority for many of our members and serves as a reminder to support ongoing change to create workplaces that value and understand women’s inclusion and thrive on equitable opportunities for all. SSAA heard from six women from across industry who are each are passionate about inclusivity, excellence and ‘breaking the mould’, making them worthy role models to current and future women in storage. Brittany Wile of Safe ‘n’ Sound Self Storage; Elizabeth Rutland, General Manager of Monash Self Storage Centres; Julia Ovens, Group Operations Manager for Fort Knox Self Storage; Priya Khatri, Branch Manager for Rent A Space; Rosemary Angyasy, Manager for Jim’s Self Storage and Samantha Kirby, General Manager – Sales and Marketing for Janus International Australia, each took time out of their busy schedules to share some of their greatest wins, challenges and encouragements with us for our 2024 International Women’s Day feature.
